Both the Blue Line and Gold Line will be closed for scheduled preventative maintenance from Saturday, April 25 at 2 a.m. until Monday, April 27 at 4 a.m. A bus bridge will replace all trains. From April 27 - 29 the Bus Bridge continues, but only between Scaleybark and Bland stations, to support South End Station construction.
As CATS prepares installation of a new track crossing as part of the South End Station project, a portion of the Rail Trail will be closed beginning April 19. As work is completed, sections of the Rail Trail will reopen (May-July).

Charlotte, N.C. – The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will retire the North Mecklenburg Village Rider and the Davidson Shuttle services effective July 7, 2025. Riders in Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson will transition to using CATS Micro, the newly launched on-demand public shared ride service. To help riders make a smooth transition, CATS is offering fare-free rides on CATS Micro from June 1–7. This is the perfect opportunity for current Village Rider and Davidson Shuttle users and new riders alike to explore the benefits of this microtransit service.
CATS Micro offers point-to-point trips within a defined service zone currently in North Mecklenburg—for the same price as a local bus fare. This is the first of 19 total microtransit zones planned. Whether you're heading to work, school, or running errands, CATS Micro gets you closer to your destination, when you need it.
