Beginning Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, CATS Gold Line streetcars will begin operating using stop request service. Streetcars will stop when customers press onboard "Stop Request" buttons or if customers are waiting to board on station platforms.

With extreme temperatures expected Friday, Aug. 21, CATS is supporting customers by providing rides to designated cooling stations throughout Mecklenburg County.
David B. Waymer Recreation Center – Route 48x

Ivory/Baker Recreation Center – Routes 21 & 26
Revolution Park Sports Academy – Routes 2 & 10
Tyvola Senior Center – Route 12 or Blue Line (Tyvola Station)

Roof Above Services – Open weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Relatives: On Ramp – Open weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (available to individuals ages 16 to 24)
