With extreme temperatures expected Friday, Aug. 21, CATS is supporting customers by providing rides to designated cooling stations throughout Mecklenburg County.

Cooling Stations Served by CATS Routes

  • David B. Waymer Recreation Center – Route 48x

  • Eastway Regional Recreation Center – Route 39

  • Ivory/Baker Recreation Center – Routes 21 & 26

  • Revolution Park Sports Academy – Routes 2 & 10

  • Tyvola Senior Center – Route 12 or Blue Line (Tyvola Station)

Additional Cooling Stations (No Direct Bus Access)

  • Northern Regional Recreation Center

Other Options to Stay Cool

Stay Safe! Public Health Recommends:

  • Limiting outdoor activities

  • Drinking plenty of water

  • Sheltering in shaded or air-conditioned places

  • Wearing lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing
