Charlotte’s First Stormwater Sidewalk Mural to be Installed Near Rosa Parks Place Community Transit Center

On Friday, June 13, local artist Jamil Dyair Steele will begin a week-long installation of a painted mural on a portion of the sidewalk along the southbound/inbound 2800 block of Beatties Ford Road between Rosa Parks Place and North Hoskins Road. This area is near the Rosa Parks Place Community Transit Center at 2811 Beatties Ford Road, slightly impacting bus routes 7, 18 and 26.

During the mural installation (June 13 to approximately June 21), riders will not be able to access two of the transit center bays and should avoid disturbing the artwork. The other two bays will remain open. The area will be marked off with cones and signage. Two bays will remain accessible to riders. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The mural is intended to educate residents about positive and negative actions that impact stormwater and ultimately our local waterways. Learn more about the mural by visiting the website through the link Stormwater Sidewalk Mural.
