Blue Line to Resume Normal Operations as Improvement Project Finishes
Published on August 03, 2026
Rider’s Alert
Route: Blue Line
Effective: Aug. 4
CATS will resume normal operations on the Blue Line beginning tomorrow, Aug. 4, 2026, following the early completion of necessary drainage improvements along the rail alignment near Scaleybark Station.
Blue Line trains will no longer operate on a single track between Scaleybark and Archdale Stations and 15‑minute peak headways will resume. The CATS-Pass app and website will be updated to reflect the normal operating schedule tomorrow.
Bus routes 2, 12 and 30 have returned to their regular routing and the Scaleybark Station Bus Bay has reopened.
The drainage improvements are a critical investment in the safe and reliable operation of trains along the corridor. Crews installed trench drains along the outside perimeter of both northbound and southbound tracks. These drains will mitigate water pooling beneath the grade crossing at South Boulevard, ensuring safe train and vehicle operations in a high-traffic area.
We understand that delays can be frustrating, and we appreciate our riders’ patience throughout this project. We are grateful for our community’s understanding as we completed these important improvements while maintaining Blue Line service.
Thank you for riding with CATS.
