Both the Blue Line and Gold Line will be closed for scheduled preventative maintenance from Saturday, April 25 at 2 a.m. until Monday, April 27 at 4 a.m. A bus bridge will replace all trains. From April 27 - 29 the Bus Bridge continues, but only between Scaleybark and Bland stations, to support South End Station construction.
As CATS prepares installation of a new track crossing as part of the South End Station project, a portion of the Rail Trail will be closed beginning April 19. As work is completed, sections of the Rail Trail will reopen (May-July).

Rider’s Alert Blue Line Effective: Sept. 8, 2025
Beginning Monday, Sept. 8, a portion of the Rail Trail near New Bern Station will be temporarily closed due to a drainage replacement project. Only one side of the rail trail will be closed at a time, allowing for an accessible detour. The closure is between Poindexter Drive and New Bern Street, behind the MAA Reserve Apartment Community (2720 South Boulevard).
Signs will be in place to guide Rail Trail users away from the affected area and back to an open portion of the trail. This portion of the Rail Trail is expected to be closed for approximately four months. We will provide updates as they are available and appreciate your patience during this time.
Blue Line operations should not be impacted by this project.
