Temporary CATS Bus Route Detours – Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026

Route: 2, 5, 10, 16, 19, 35

Effective: Sept. 12


Due to various events around the Charlotte area, several CATS bus routes will operate on detours the morning of Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.

Riders should expect additional travel time and bypassed stops as buses operate on detours.


Beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 10 a.m., CATS Bus Routes 5, 10, 16, 19 and 35 will operate on detours for the Eucharistic Congress Procession.

These detours will be concentrated around South Tryon Street between Brooklyn Village Avenue & 3rd Street, College Street between 3rd Street & Brooklyn Village Avenue & Brevard Street between 3rd Street & Brooklyn Village Avenue.

Route 16

Outbound—no service at:

  • Tryon St & Brooklyn Village Ave

  • Tryon St & 2nd St

Inbound—no service at:

  • College St & 2nd St

Routes 5 & 35

Outbound—no service at:

  • Brevard St & Martin Luther King Jr Blvd

  • Pegram St & Parkwood Ave

Inbound—no service at:

  • College St & 2nd St

Routes 10 & 19

Outbound—no service at:

  • Brevard St & Martin Luther King Jr Blvd

Inbound—all stops served as scheduled.

Alternative Stops Available

The buses outbound buses will allow customers to board or exit at the following stops:

  • Charlotte Transportation Center

  • 4th St & Tryon St


Beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 10:30 a.m., CATS Bus Route 2 will operate on detours for the South End Shuffle 5K.

These detours will be concentrated around Summit Avenue, Remount Road, South Tryon Street, and several streets in the area.

Route 2

Outbound—no service at:

  • Remount Rd & Tryon St

  • Remount Rd & Brookhill Rd

Inbound—all stops served as scheduled.

Alternative Stops Available

Route 2 outbound buses will allow customers to board or exit at the following stops:

  • Tryon St & Remount Rd
