The MPTA and CATS are seeking applicants for two new transit rider-focused advisory committees—the Mobility Access Committee (MAC) and the Transit Riders Advisory Committee (TRAC). These committees will elevate rider experience into decisions that affect accessibility, service quality, customer experience and the future of our transit system.

Effective: Sept. 1, 2026
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, CATS Bus Route 9 (Central Avenue) will enter the Eastland Community Transit Center on outbound trips to Albemarle & Lawyers Park & Ride.
This change will eliminate some connectivity issues with routes 28, 221 and 222.
Route 9 inbound trips to the Charlotte Transportation Center will continue to serve the Eastland Community Transit Center at the bus bay on Central Avenue.
