Rider’s Alert

Route: 82x

Effective: July 1

Effective July 1, 2026, CATS will no longer operate Route 82x (Rock Hill Express). This discontinuation is a result of the City of Rock Hill’s decision not to seek renewal of the current service agreement beyond its expiration date on June 30, 2026.

CATS and the City of Rock Hill have partnered to provide express bus service between the City of Rock Hill and Uptown Charlotte via Route 82x, in alignment with CATS’ service policy requiring a funding collaboration for transit services operating outside Mecklenburg County.

Service on Route 82x will operate as scheduled on Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30. The 82x service will terminate on Wednesday, July 1.

CATS offers a Vanpool transit service to provide an affordable and efficient way to commute to or from destinations in Mecklenburg County. Additional information is available on the CATS Vanpool program website, which you can visit through this link: About Vanpool
