Beginning Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, CATS Gold Line streetcars will begin operating using stop request service. Streetcars will stop when customers press onboard "Stop Request" buttons or if customers are waiting to board on station platforms.

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will complete concrete repairs at French Street Station on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26.
During this improvement work, Gold Line streetcars will pass French Street Station, with Johnson C. Smith University Station serving as the last and first stop on the west side of the line.
Johnson C. Smith University Station will serve as the last stop for westbound trips and the first stop for eastbound trips during this time.
Riders traveling to or from French Street Station should use Johnson C. Smith University Station instead.
