Gold Line Service Shutdown Oct. 24 – 26

Published on October 12, 2026

Rider’s Alert

Route: Gold Line

Effective: Oct. 24 – 26, 2026

CATS will suspend Gold Line service beginning at 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 through 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26 as part of the annual fall rail shutdown.

This shutdown will only affect the Gold Line. The Blue Line will operate normally throughout the weekend.

Due to road construction and closures along Trade Street in coordination with CDOT, CATS will not run a bus bridge service during the shutdown. Customers can still access destinations along the Gold Line using nearby CATS routes listed below.

Alternate Bus Service – West of the CTC (toward French Street Station)

  • Route 1 (Mount Holly)

  • Route 7 (Beatties Ford)

  • Route 8 (Tuckaseegee Rd)

Alternate Bus Service – East of the CTC (toward Sunnyside Station)

  • Route 9 (Central Ave)

  • Route 14 (Providence Rd)

  • Route 15 (Randolph Rd)

  • Route 17 (Commonwealth Ave)

  • Route 27 (Monroe Rd)

CATS coordinates rail shutdowns twice a year to conduct routine maintenance that ensures long-term infrastructure reliability. For this work to be safely completed by construction crews, electrical overhead wires must be powered down.
