CATS to Perform Preventative Maintenance on Blue and Gold Line Service

Blue Line and Gold Line 
Effective: Dec. 13-14, 2025


Maintenance is part of CATS’ ongoing commitment to provide safe and efficient transit services.

Charlotte, N.C. – The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will suspend Blue Line and Gold Line services for preventative maintenance Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14.

To minimize disruptions, the shutdown will occur in phases. The entire length of the Gold Line and the South Blue Line shutdown, from 7th Street to I-485, is scheduled to begin at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.  
 
The North Blue Line shutdown, from 7th Street to UNCC, is scheduled to begin at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. During this period, bus bridges will replace rail service. Information boards at stations will direct riders to bus bridge stops, which will be marked with Connector signs. Buses will also display “Bus Bridge” for easy identification.

The Blue Line and Gold Line will reopen for regularly scheduled service on Monday, December 15.
