Effective: Jan. 27, 2026

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will resume limited service beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27. Out of an abundance of caution, services will again end at midnight on Tuesday. The last Blue Line train will leave UNC Charlotte and I-485 stations at midnight. The final bus routes will depart the Charlotte Transportation Center at midnight.

The following is a rundown of CATS services planned for Tuesday:

  • Gold Line and Express Bus service will be suspended, with anticipated reopening on Wednesday.
  • Blue Line will operate on its regular frequency.
  • Buses will operate, but customers may experience some detours based on road conditions.
  • CATS Micro and STS will be operational, but customers should expect possible delays due to conditions along neighborhood streets.

Customers are encouraged to visit our Inclement Weather Alerts Page, which will provide real-time bus detours, by clicking this link: Inclement Weather Alerts

In addition, we will provide updates on the CATS-Pass app and official CATS X and Facebook accounts.

For questions or concerns, community members can speak to CATS Customer Service at 704-336-7433.
