Beginning Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, CATS Gold Line streetcars will begin operating using stop request service. Streetcars will stop when customers press onboard "Stop Request" buttons or if customers are waiting to board on station platforms.

CATS Hosts Public Meetings for Gold Line Extension (Phase 3)
Charlotte, N.C. – The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will host three public meetings with opportunities to learn about Phase 3 of the Gold Line. The proposed extension will stretch from the Rosa Parks Community Transit Center to the Eastland Community Transit Center.
In-Person Meeting
- Tuesday, April 23 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Northwest School of the Arts – Located along CATS Bus Route 71415 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216
- Thursday, April 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Veterans Park – Indoor Pavilion – Located along CATS Bus Route 92136 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205
