Temporary CATS Bus Detour – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade 2025
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will temporarily adjust the following routes and the Gold Line due to road closures for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade in Uptown on Saturday, Jan. 18.
Routes: 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 19, 21, 22, 26, 34, 35
Where: Tryon Street between 9th Street and 3rd Street; 3rd Street between Tryon Street and McDowell Street
When: Jan. 18 from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In addition to bus route detours, a bus bridge will be in place on the Gold Line between CTC and French Street stations from the beginning of service until 1 p.m. Learn more about what a bus bridge is by visiting CATS Bus Bridge Stop Locations. During this time, streetcars between CTC and Sunnyside stations will operate on a 20-minute headway.
Also of note, the CATS Call Center, Lost and Found, Pass Sales and Information offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of MLK Day. All CATS bus routes, Blue Line and Gold Line will operate on Saturday schedule on Monday, Jan. 20.
