Both the Blue Line and Gold Line will be closed for scheduled preventative maintenance from Saturday, April 25 at 2 a.m. until Monday, April 27 at 4 a.m. A bus bridge will replace all trains. From April 27 - 29 the Bus Bridge continues, but only between Scaleybark and Bland stations, to support South End Station construction.
As CATS prepares installation of a new track crossing as part of the South End Station project, a portion of the Rail Trail will be closed beginning April 19. As work is completed, sections of the Rail Trail will reopen (May-July).

Rider’s Alert All Routes Effective: Oct. 9, 2025
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), in partnership with JazzArts, announces the return of Ride with the Music, a free concert series featuring local performers at various CATS locations every Thursday evening in October.
“CATS is thrilled to continue our partnership with JazzArts to bring quality jazz music to our transit stations,” Art in Transit Program Administrator Chris Lange said. “We are happy to celebrate the artistic talent in our community and hope it provides some joy to riders and the public. This program is unique because it provides access to some of the city’s top jazz artists in an unexpected setting, so we encourage you to stop by and hear the music.”
Riders are encouraged to take a few minutes out of their day to enjoy these sounds of the fall season.
Concert reminders and any weather updates will be communicated via the CATS-Pass app.
