Opportunities to Learn More About New Microtransit Service

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will host in-person town hall and pop-up meetings to educate and engage with the public regarding its new microtransit service, CATS Micro. During these meetings, CATS staff will share information about how to use the service and guide attendees through the booking process. CATS Micro is set to launch Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.

CATS Micro to Provide More Access to Jobs, Health Care, and more!

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is set to launch CATS Micro, its new microtransit service, on Monday, February 24, 2025.
CATS Micro is an on-demand, shared-ride service that gets you where you need to go, for the same fare as a local bus or rail trip. CATS Micro operates point-to-point within a designated zone and will initially serve the Northern Mecklenburg County area.

Bus Detour due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade 2025

CATS will temporarily adjust the following routes and the Gold Line due to road closures for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade in Uptown on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Routes: 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 19, 21, 22, 26, 34, 35

Where: Tryon Street between 9th Street and 3rd Street; 3rd Street between Tryon Street and McDowell Street

When: Jan. 18 from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CATS 2025 Service and Parade Detour for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is announcing the CATS Call Center, Lost and Found, Pass Sales and Information offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 for the holiday.
All CATS bus routes, the Blue Line and the Gold Line will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, Jan. 20.

To prioritize the safety of riders and employees, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will suspend Gold Line service at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, due to inclement weather.
