Charlotte, N.C. - On Monday, June 19, 2023, the Union County Board of Commissioners voted to continue funding the 74X Union County Express bus service to the Town of Indian Trail.

CATS is pleased to continue its partnership with Union County and Indian Trail to provide express service to the region.  At this time, the 74X will NOT be discontinued, as CATS previously communicated. The route may need to be modified to include ONLY a stop in Indian Trail.  The Union County Board of Commissioners had requested funding participation from local jurisdictions within Union County. Indian Trail is committing funding to the service, so the route will continue to serve Indian Trail.

If the City of Monroe does decide to support the route, the route will remain unchanged with service to both Indian Trail and Monroe.

If the route is modified, the change will go into effect on October 2, 2023. The Union Towne Center Park & Ride, located at 5850 W. Hwy 74, Indian Trail, NC 28079, would be the final stop on the route.
