The Charlotte Area Transit Systems (CATS), a component department of the City of Charlotte, has identified one van that has reached the end of its useful service life, has a fair market value less than $5,000, and is no longer needed. The City of Charlotte is considering donating the van to Promise Youth Development, Inc., a non-profit organization in Charlotte, North Carolina. Promise Youth Development, Inc. proposes to use the van to transport youth to programming and community resources. Promise Youth Development, Inc. would accept the van “as is” and without any warranty as to its condition.
Notice is hereby given pursuant to N.C. General Statute § 160A-280 that the City Council of the City of Charlotte intends to consider authorizing the donation of one CATS van to Promise Youth Development, Inc. at its January 13, 2025 meeting. The meeting will be located in the Meeting Chamber at the Charlotte- Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 E. Fourth Street in Charlotte, NC 28202.
