Charlotte Water (CLTWater) collects wastewater from approximately 295,747 homes and businesses throughout the county. Wastewater is collected and directed (via gravity flow supported by sewage lift stations) to one of six CLTWater wastewater treatment plants. Charlotte Water successfully collects and treats 99.9 percent of the more than 31 billion gallons of wastewater the community produced each year. CLTWater responds to and clears sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) in our community.
