Effective: April 25, 2026

Rail Shutdown for Blue and Gold Line is Scheduled for This Weekend, April 25 & 26

As construction on the South End Station continues, CATS would like to remind our customers of the upcoming rail shutdown this weekend.

What’s happening

Both the Blue Line and Gold Line will be closed for scheduled preventative maintenance.

  • Timing: Saturday, April 25 at 2 a.m. until Monday, April 27 at 4 a.m.

  • Rider Impact: A bus bridge will replace all trains.

  • How to find your bus: Look for "Connector" signs at your station and buses displaying "Bus Bridge" on their digital signs.

Following the rail shutdown, South End Station construction will continue.

Please be advised of a slight shift in the upcoming service schedule. To accommodate necessary construction, we have added an additional day of bus bridge service and single tracking.

  • April 27 - 29: Bus Bridge continues, but only between Scaleybark and Bland stations.

  • April 30 – May 9: Bus bridge ends, trains share a single track at New Bern Station only. Track 2 platform will be closed. Signage will guide customers to open platform.

  • May 10: Blue Line service is scheduled to return to normal operations.

  • May 10 & Beyond: No further construction-related service changes are planned until this fall.

As a reminder, directional signage will be placed at each impacted station. Updates will be provided via the CATS-Pass app and CATS social media channels.
