Game On, Tunes Up: Transit Gets Charlotte Moving
What a weekend it was! If you were anywhere near Uptown Charlotte this past weekend, May 2–4, you know the city was buzzing with energy. With the Lovin’ Life Music Fest, a Kendrick Lamar concert and several major sporting events all happening at once, the city was alive—and the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) was right in the middle of the action, keeping things moving.
Behind this smooth operation was a dedicated team working hard to meet the surge in demand. From operators to planners to on-the-ground staff, CATS employees stepped up to ensure riders got where they needed to go safely and efficiently.
Adding to the effort, CATS deployed special “ambassadors” along the Blue Line throughout the weekend. These friendly faces were there to help guide passengers, answer questions and create a welcoming, stress-free travel experience.
Big weekends like this highlight just how vital public transit is to the pulse of a growing city like Charlotte. And thanks to thoughtful planning and a strong team, CATS kept the rhythm going.
We look forward to moving people forward for future high profile events in the Queen City. We know we had a lot of visitors from across the country and take pride knowing we had an impact during their visit.
