Phone numbers linked to active billing accounts will receive phone calls, texts, and emails when there is an emergency alert (water outage, water quality concern, or sewer spill in recreational waters nearby) affecting the service address. Renters, tenants, spouses, roommates, and property managers that do not have their contact information in our billing system can register to receive alerts.

You do not need to register if you have an active account with Charlotte Water and your phone number is accurate. If so, you will receive emergency alerts.
You can register to receive non-emergency alerts and if you want to receive alerts for multiple addresses (home, work, family member, apartment, tenant).

Text messages will come from #89361, 89362 and 87844. You can add these codes as a contact in your address book and label them as CLTWater Alerts for easy identification. It is possible that other text services may use the same number.
