Village Rider and Davidson Shuttle Routes to Transition to CATS Micro
Published on July 01, 2025
Customers can try CATS Micro fare-free from July 7-13!
Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will retire the North Mecklenburg Village Rider (routes 97, 98 and 99) and the Davidson Shuttle (route 290) services effective July 7, 2025. Riders in Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson will transition to using CATS Micro on July 7, the newly launched on-demand public shared ride service.
To help riders make a smooth transition, CATS is offering a second round of fare-free rides on CATS Micro from July 7-13. This is the perfect opportunity for current Village Rider and Davidson Shuttle users and new riders alike to explore the benefits of this microtransit service.
CATS Micro offers point-to-point trips within a defined service zone currently in North Mecklenburg - for the same price as a local bus fare. This is the first of 19 total microtransit zones planned. Whether you're heading to work, school, or running errand, CATS Micro gets you closer to your destination, when you need it.
How to ride:

Download the CATS-Pass app.
-
Tap "Plan," enter your starting point and destination.
-
If you trip is within the Micro service zone and hours of operation, CATS will appear as an option.
-
