National Night Out 2026

The next scheduled National Night Out is Tuesday, August 4th 2026.

National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Generate support for crime prevention
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Convicted Felon Sentenced to 10 Years for Highway Shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Anil Dabydeen, 41, of Charlotte, was sentenced today to 10 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for illegally possessing the stolen firearm he used to shoot at vehicles on I-485, injuring two people, announced Russ Ferguson, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.
