Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Central Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 900 block of Metropolitan Avenue in the Central Division.

Crimes Against Children Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit have arrested and charged Leetwain Darrell Tate, 48, in a CAC investigation involving juveniles ages 14 to 15. Tate is also known as “Sharon” or “Ms. Sharon.”
