Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, September 13, 2023) – The victim in this case has been identified as Saffire Pok Insomphou (DOB: 09/21/1964). The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
Detectives with the CMPD’s Homicide Unit are not looking for any suspects in this case. In addition, no charges are being sought at this time.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Homicide Investigation in the North Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, September 12, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 8300 block of Highlander Court in the North Division.
On Monday, September 11, shortly before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call for service in the 8300 block of Highlander Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. MEDIC pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and MEDIC also responded.
