Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Eastway Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, October 18, 2023) – The victim in this case has been identified as Cornelius O. Bolden (DOB: 12/12/1968). The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
As a result of the continued investigation, detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit have charged, Marcus Leon Hook (DOB: 01/09/2003), in connection to this case. Mr. Hook has been charged with Murder.
Mr. Bolden’s next of kin has also been notified of the arrest.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Homicide Investigation in the Eastway Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, October 15, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 3300 block of Magnolia Hill Drive in the Eastway Division.
On Sunday, October 15 shortly after 1:30 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 3300 block of Magnolia Hill Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and Medic also assisted.
