Public’s Assistance Requested Identifying Sex Assault Suspect

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, February 26, 2024) Today, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit held a press conference requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a sexual assault suspect.

 

Detectives are looking for the male suspect who broke into an 86-year-old female survivor’s residence and physically and sexually assaulted her. The incident happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, in the 4400 block of Hucks Road. The suspect fled from the scene on foot.

 

He’s described as a heavy-set black male, around 5’11” in his mid-to-late 20’s. He was last seen wearing jeans, a jacket and a hat.

 

CMPD’s Sexual Assault Unit and Crime Laboratory are currently analyzing physical evidence collected from the case.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, February 25, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are conducting a Sexual Assault Investigation in the 4400 block of Hucks Road.

On Saturday, February 24, shortly after 7:30 p.m., officers from CMPD’s North Division responded to a sexual assault call for service in the 4400 block of Hucks Road. Upon arrival, the victim stated that the unknown suspect broke into her residence before physically and sexually assaulting her. The suspect then fled on foot.  The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his mid to late 20’s, who is about 5’11”, heavy set and was last seen wearing jeans, a jacket and a hat.
