Public’s Assistance Requested in Locating Attempted Murder Suspect

Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, April 21, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) are requesting the public's assistance in locating 29-year-old Dominique Gantt. 

 

On Sunday, April 9, 2023, at approximately 10:49 p.m., Westover Division officers responded to 1800 block Remount Road in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, officers located two victims with apparent gunshot wounds. 

 

Westover Division detectives identified, Dominique Gantt (DOB: 05/14/1993), as the suspect in this shooting. Warrants were issued for his arrest for the following: Attempted Murder, Discharging Weapon within City Limits and Possess Firearm Limits and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. CMPD’s VCAT unit began apprehension efforts for Gantt. He is a black male, 5’6”, and weighs approximately 200 pounds.  He goes by the street name of, “Domo Beezy”.
