Public's Assistance Requested in Missing Persons Investigation

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, May 16, 2026) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 75-year-old male Wayne Simpson.

Mr. Simpson was last seen leaving his residence located in the 15000 block of SJ Lawrence Road around noon, Saturday, May 16, 2026. He is believed to be driving a 1996 gold Chevy Silverado pickup truck with NC TAG: RCE-6862. His clothing at this time is unknown.

Mr. Simpson has a cognitive impairment and may be lost or confused. A silver alert is being requested.

Anyone with information about Mr. Simpson’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
