Public’s Assistance Requested in Missing Person Investigation

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, September 9, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Missing Persons Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 59-year-old male Derrick Jay Proctor.

 

Mr. Proctor left his residence in the 10100 block of Shaffer Valley Way in Charlotte around 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025. Mr. Proctor left in a black 2015 Honda Civic, displaying North Carolina license plate EMC-5525. Mr. Proctor’s vehicle was last seen traveling south on Bradford Drive in Charlotte around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

 

Mr. Proctor has been diagnosed with a cognitive impairment and may become lost or confused. He has difficulty walking and uses a cane.

 

Family members are concerned for Mr. Proctor’s well-being and are seeking the public’s assistance to help locate him. A Missing Endangered Alert has been issued for Mr. Proctor by the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.

 

Anyone with information on Mr. Proctor’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
