Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025) – The victim in this case has been identified as Quivonte Blount, 29.

Mr. Blount’s next of kin has been notified of his death.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office. Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 4100 block of Hyde Park Drive in the North Division.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, shortly after 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check call for service in the 4100 block of Hyde Park Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive victim. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by MEDIC.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, and MEDIC also assisted.
