Public's Assistance Requested in Assault and Possible Kidnapping

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, May 15, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Homicide Unit request the public’s assistance in locating a female pedestrian who was injured during an assault on May 14.

Just before 10:30 p.m. on May 14, officers with the Freedom Division were called to the 1600 block of Toddville Road for an Attempt to Locate call for service. Witnesses observed a vehicle striking a female pedestrian. Witnesses also reported seeing this same female forcibly removed against her will from the area by the suspect.

The driver damaged a nearby utility box and pole, which led to the temporary closure of Toddville Road.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a Hispanic male with short hair, a muscular build and not wearing a shirt.

Preliminary information suggests the victim is believed to be Hispanic with black shoulder-length hair and was wearing a white shirt and black shorts. She is believed to be between 18-25 years old.

The CMPD’s Homicide Unit are looking for any information on the suspect vehicle, said to be a gold sport utility vehicle with front-end damage, as well as the victim, to ensure her safety.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Division.
