Death Investigation in the Freedom Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, May 3, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a death investigation in the 1100 block of Browns Avenue in the Freedom Division.
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, shortly after 3:45 p.m., officers responded to a call for service regarding a death investigation in the 1100 block of Browns Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two unresponsive victims. MEDIC transported both victims to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center where one of the victims was pronounced deceased.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command and MEDIC also assisted.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Division.
