Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Steele Creek Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, May 8, 2025) – The victim in this case has been identified as Jenrri Omar Guzman Valle, 28.
Mr. Valle’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office. Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, May 3, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 500 block of Branch Way Court in the University Steele Creek Division.
On Saturday, May 3, shortly after 3:00 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 500 block of Branch Way Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by MEDIC.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and MEDIC also assisted.
