Public's Assistance Requested in Missing Person Investigation

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, May 5, 2025) –The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department wants to thank the public for their assistance. The missing person was located unharmed and is reunited with their family.
Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, May 2, 2025) - The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Missing Persons Unit is conducting an investigation into the disappearance of Kaniyha Lane, 16. The call for service came in at 7:02 p.m. on Thursday, May 01, 2025.
Ms. Lane was last seen leaving the magistrates office going towards E. Third Street and McDowell Street. Ms. Lane is described as being 5’1” and 104 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue sweatpants, a black short sleeve shirt, black croc shoes and no socks. She had two ponytails on the top of her head and had a blue and green blanket wrapped around her.
Anyone who sees or has information about Ms. Lane is asked to call 911 immediately.
