Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 3100 block of Nobles Ave. in the Westover Division.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, shortly before 6 p.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Injury call for service in the 3100 block of Nobles Ave. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds and one juvenile victim who had been struck by a vehicle.

Two victims were transported by MEDIC to a nearby hospital, one with non-life-threatening injuries and the other with life-threatening injuries. The second victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. MEDIC also transported the juvenile victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An additional victim self-transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and MEDIC responded to assist.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Division.
