Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, January 22, 2025) – The victim in this case has been identified as Jadarrian Boyd, 28.
As a result of the continued investigation, Westover Division officers arrived on scene and identified Shakara Linette Sinclair, 30, as a suspect.
Officers transported Sinclair to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) where she was interviewed by homicide detectives.
At the conclusion of this interview, Sinclair was arrested and transferred into custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Sinclair is charged with Murder.
Mr. Boyd’s next of kin has been notified of his death and this arrest.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, January 21, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 5700 block of Leake Street in the Westover Division.
On Tuesday, January 21, shortly after 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a domestic violence assault call for service in the 5700 block of Leake Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who had a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by MEDIC.
