Public's Assistance Requested in Missing Person Investigation

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, December 20, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Missing Person Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 84-year-old Sylvia Smith.

Ms. Smith was last seen in Charlotte in the 3100 block of Village Glen Lane on December 20, 2025 at around 2:30 a.m. Ms. Smith may be experiencing cognitive impairment and may be lost or confused. Ms. Smith was last seen wearing a pink and black top with orange pajama pants. She has gray hair and should be wearing white framed glasses.  

Anyone with information on Smith’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
