Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025) – The victim in this case have been identified as Timothy James Brown, 34.
Mr. Brown’s next of kin has been notified of his death.


The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Division. Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 5100 block of Reagan Drive in the North Tryon Division.

On Wednesday, Dec. 10, shortly after 4:30 p.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 5100 block of Reagan Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who sustained a stab wound. The victim was transported by MEDIC to a nearby hospital and pronounced deceased by medical staff shortly after.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, CFD and MEDIC also assisted.
