Fatal Crash Investigation in the Hickory Grove Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal crash in the Hickory Grove Division.

On Saturday, Oct. 11, at approximately 6:10 p.m., officers responded to a crash with personal injury call for service near the 8500 block of Lawyers Road. Upon arrival, officers located a damaged Honda SUV and its injured driver, Todd Alan Bradley, 53. Officers also located a damaged Ford pickup truck and its driver Kabria Shanice Diaz, 32, and a passenger, Samuel Diaz, 34.

MEDIC arrived on scene and transported Mr. Bradley to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. At the hospital, Mr. Bradley succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Both Mr. and Mrs. Diaz declined medical treatment.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Bradley was traveling west on Lawyers Rd. when he veered left into oncoming traffic and then struck the front of Mr. Diaz’s car head on.

Speed or impairment are not suspected for either driver.

Mr. Bradley’s next of kin has been notified of his death.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Division.
