Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, December 19, 2023) – The victim in this case has been identified as Frankie Chaparro, Jr  (DOB: 10/13/1990). The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.

 

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division 

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, December 19, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 3900 block of West Tyvola Road in the Westover Division.

 

On Tuesday, December 19, shortly before 2 a.m., officers responded to a Check the Welfare call for service.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.

 

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and Medic also assisted.
