Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, October 27, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at the 6100 block of South Blvd. in the Westover Division.
On Monday, October 27, shortly after 6:30 p.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Injury call for service at the 6100 block of South Blvd. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim near the Norfolk Southern train tracks that had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. Officers attempted life-saving measures, and the victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Preliminary reports indicate that the altercation happened at a nearby business.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and CFD also responded to assist.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
