Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, February 14, 2024) – The victim in this case has been identified as Michael Burroughs (DOB: 05/16/1984). The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Homicide Investigation in the Steele Creek Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, February 13, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 8800 block of Camden Creek Lane in the Steele Creek Division.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, shortly after 12:15 p.m., officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the 8800 block of Camden Creek Lane for an Assist Medic call for service. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound and was unresponsive. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
It was later determined that this incident would be investigated as a homicide. CMPD Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation, and Crime Scene Investigations responded to process the scene. Representatives from the CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, MEDIC and the Charlotte Fire Department also assisted.
