Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at the 300 block of Lambeth Dr. in the North Tryon Division.
On Sunday, Aug. 17, shortly after 3:30 a.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Injuries call for service at the 300 block of Lambeth Dr. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim in the residence that had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. Officers attempted life-saving measures, and the victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and CFD also responded to assist.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
