Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025) – As a result of this continued investigation, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) Homicide detectives identified, Tracoby Meeks, 20, as a suspect in connection to this case.
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, detectives obtained a warrant for Meeks arrest. Earlier today, the CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VACT) located and arrested Meeks.
Meeks was transported to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) where he was interviewed by homicide detectives.
At the conclusion of this interview, Meeks was transported to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, May 31, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at the intersection of North Graham Street and Craighead Road in the North Tryon Division.
On Saturday, May 31, shortly before 2 a.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon with injuries call for service at the intersection of North Graham Street and Craighead Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim in a vehicle with a gunshot wound and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and CFD also responded to assist.
