Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, February 10, 2026) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 100 block Atando Avenue in the North Tryon Division.
On Monday, February 9, shortly after 4 p.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 100 block of Atando Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim with life-threatening injuries who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. MEDIC transported the victim to a local hospital.
On Tuesday, February 10, Bradley Reid, 37, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Mr. Reid’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
Homicide Unit detectives are now handling the investigation.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
