Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Freedom Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, March 6, 2025) – The victim in this case has been identified as Todd Jackson Jr., 31. The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office. Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, March 2, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at the 4800 block of Wilkinson Blvd. in the Freedom Division.

On Saturday, March 2, shortly before 2 a.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service at the 4800 block of Wilkinson Blvd. The victim got into an altercation with armed security and was shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Atrium Main where he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and CFD also responded to assist.
