Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Central Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, March 26, 2023) – The victim in this case has been identified as Jaimeo Sanchez Simpson (DOB: 09/26/1985). The victim’s family has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, March 24, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 700 block of West 9th Street in the Central Division.
On Friday, March 24, shortly before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a person down call for service in the 700 block of West 9th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with traumatic injuries. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD, Medic and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team also assisted.
